Who we are
Liberty Investigations, Inc. is a licensed Texas private investigation firm founded in 2002 by Allison Vinson. With more than twenty years of investigation experience in criminal defense and civil litigation, she leads a team of investigators who each bring specific expertise to a case.
Based in the Houston area, we specialize in post-conviction appeals and criminal defense, and we investigate civil rights and civil liberties matters. On a selective basis we take on civil and family law matters and general investigative work for attorneys, individuals, families, and businesses.

In legal matters we work at the direction of counsel and operate as an agent of counsel for the duration of the engagement. All work product is attorney-client privileged and attorney work product.

Experience That Knows Which Side It Is On
In criminal and post-conviction matters, we work on behalf of the accused, including pretrial criminal defense, post-conviction appeals, habeas corpus proceedings, and capital litigation. We locate and interview witnesses, develop records that were not part of the original case file, and investigate what was missed the first time around.
We also work civil rights and civil liberties cases, including constitutional claims. Those cases call for locating witnesses no one else found, obtaining records that were never produced, and developing patterns of conduct across other incidents and other cases.
For civil and family law matters we provide fact investigation and litigation support to attorneys on both sides of the caption, on a selective basis.
The work is conducted at the direction of counsel and documented as attorney work product.
